Start your journey early morning from Kathmandu and drive towards Birtamod, which takes approximately 11–12 hours. If you prefer a more scenic and relaxed stop, you can break the journey at Kanyam in Ilam, known for its beautiful tea gardens and peaceful surroundings. Overnight stay at Birtamod or Kanyam.

After breakfast, continue our driver will drive towards Taplejung or Thulo Phedi (Approx. 180–220 km), passing through the stunning landscapes of Ilam. On the way, enjoy views of lush tea gardens, rolling hills, and charming towns like Phungling, the district headquarters of Taplejung. Arrive at Thulo Phedi or Taplejung for an overnight stay.                               

Early in the morning, begin your hike from Phedi (around 5 km, taking approximately 3–4 hours) to reach the sacred Pathivara Temple. After spending time for Darshan and exploring the area, trek back down to Phedi or Suketar for rest and overnight stay.

Begin your return journey after breakfast, driving from Taplejung back towards Ilam, Birtamod, and Dharan via the Mechi Highway (around 9–10 hours / 290 km). Along the way, enjoy the scenic landscapes of eastern Nepal and make a stop at Kanyam for tea garden views, photography, and relaxation. Depending on your plan, you can either explore Dharan’s attractions or continue your journey, concluding an unforgettable road trip experience.

On the final day, drive back from Kanyam or Dharan, with optional stops to explore the beauty of Budha Subba Temple, Dantakali Temple, Bhedetar Hill Station, Namaste Waterfall, and the iconic Ghantaghar (Clock Tower) in Dharan. After sightseeing, continue your journey back to Kathmandu. In the evening, enjoy the scenic highway views along the way as your memorable journey through eastern Nepal comes to an end.
